Daft Ada Funny Car (Model Rocket car)

Lightstorm 2 (see other YouTube) retired undeafeated Model Rocket Car champs (2002) with a record that still stands. The next year we raced in Funny cars instead with this car. It came 5th but the other four (above us) were really rocket cars just painted ‘funny’ – at least Daft Ada was a proper ‘Funny’. We got recognised for being sporting though and won the Sportsmanship award for Techno Games 2003 as you can see in this clip – Laurie Calvert. Killacycle battery powered drag bike’s record-breaking run

The Killacycle broke records at the AHDRA (All Harley Drag Racing Association) Grand Finale in Las Vegas. Susan, the vidograper, caught driver Scotty Pollacheck’s beautiful burn out and 8.76 second quarter-mile run. Carefully watch the end of the track when the powerful A123 M1 batteries burn out one of the overloaded motors, sending sparks onto the track and a ball of glowing plasma high over the right guardrail.
