Former NBA power forward and Georgia Tech All-American Tom Hammonds does final prep work on his NHRA Pro Stock Chevy Cobalt prior to Q3 at the Torco Racing Fuels Nationals in Joliet, IL. June 9, 2007. Hammonds qualified 16th in the tough 16-car field with a 6.666 e.t. at 207.21 MPH.

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 2, 2008 — Round 3 winners at the Pontiac Pro Stock Showdown at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor included Team Chevy driver Jeg Coughlin Jr. who defeated Pontiac GXP driver Greg Anderson on a holeshot. Anderson’s 6.715 e.t. was the quickest of the session, but Coughlin’s Cobalt edged out Anderson at the finish line by .015 of a second. Coughlin has lane choice over Allen Johnson in the final.

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 1, 2008- Qualifying for the third annual Pontiac Pro Stock Showdown got underway today at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with three rounds of time trials. One round of qualifying still remains to be completed on Saturday before the field is set for the 16-car eliminator.
