I don’t want to “argue” with you at all my friend. Don’t get me wrong, okay? I never said that his BAC is what caused this accident, because it didn’t. I said that drinking and motor sports DO NOT MIX! Get it! If this happened on the streets it would be viewed in a very different light. What if this (NOT A FAN AT ALL) happened in a NASCAR race? Would the reaction be the same? I think not! I love this sport but at the same time beer has no place in it. It would be foolish to say otherwise.

Correction….one drop of “nitro” and this sport just don’t mix. However, there are heros in this sport that defy the odds. Ask John Force. Sadly, in the case of Scott Kalitta, Darryll Russell, Blaine Johnson and Eric Medlen, the odds caught up with them. If you chose to blame Scotts death on .02%, then I would indeed be foolish to argue with you. It would be pointless.

1 beer is 1 too many. What would you say if a truck driver ran over your family and killed them only to find out his BAC was .02%? You might change your tune. One drop of beer and this sport just don’t mix. Thats just how it is, and to try and argue my point is foolish.

^ Thats beside the point, I personally think Mr. Kalitta was killed when the motor detonated. Besides the chutes failing there are few other *logical* explainations for why he didn’t try to slow the car down.

Very similar in nature to Russell Philips’ 1995 crash at Charlotte, only he died on impact w/ the wall.

I say that alcohol and motorsports should never co exist and you call me “ignorant?”I don’t understand your logic, dude. By the way, I never said that he crashed because of the beer he consumed so get your facts straight before you call me ignorant. Alcohol has NO PLACE IN MOTORSPORTS! PERIOD! Brin3535: 2 things, first off that is one of the most ignorant comments I have ever heard.
Second do you know what happened? I assume you don’t judging by your comment. What happened is the parachutes were damaged and failed to open, then because he was going so fast the sand trap couldn’t slow him down, there fore he was left defenseless and his death had nothing to do with alcohol.
