If not for their efforts, Don Gay Jr. could have died. The whole process took longer than this 1 minute clip shows. Thats why it was on Rescue 9-1-1.

    I remember that crash. I also purchased a vehicle from Gay Pontiac in League City, Texas (owned by Don Gay I believe). I remember seeing all of the drag racing memorabilia from the crash in the dealership. If I’m not mistaken, the Gay family also owns HRP in Baytown which is one of my favorite tracks of all time.
