1993 Yamaha Blaster vs. 2001 Honda 400ex! Who will win?
So me and my cousin will be doing a 50 ft. drag race this weekend. He has the Blaster, I have the 400ex. Here is a little information about both. Okay his Blaster basically is jetted, has K&N, and has an FMF Powercore 2slip-on. He weights about 200 lb. so that is his disadvantage. My 400ex has an FMF Powercore 4 slip-on and that’s it. I weight 125 lb. so I am much lighter! So any know how the race will end? Who will win? How much of a distance will be between the winner and the loser? Thank you in advance!

Come on…50 foot race? By the time he hits the power band on the Blaster you should be across the finish line with your helmet off waiting…
The 400 ex has great power and better off the line power delivery. The Blaster has great pulling power, but unless he is running a Toomey 4 or better (pipe) his lighter quad with great power doesn’t have as much snap off the line as it needs to be in the power stroke to make power.
In loose gravel or grass, he will spin trying to launch. On black top or a paved surface he will have a slight advantage.
It also matters with the experience of the rider. He has two years of drag racing experience…you will lose unless you can match experience…Good luck…will we see the results on You-Tube?

It doesn’t take a Genius to figure out the answer to this question. Use some common sense. A 200 against a 400. Which one do you think will win? If you are wanting to race him, go race him and get it over with. When the race is over, you have your answer.
