Yep the year would have be about 1964 & Al Vanderwoodie’s claim to fame is being the father of a unique style of drag racing car later to be known as "the Funny Car"..
the first one that he built was called the "Flyning Dutchman" and was a 1964 Dodge Dart…

im just trying to find a safe place to drag race my car and test out my car after i do work to it. i just dont want to be racing around in the streets anymore. i know theres evergreen speedway but i dont know if they have an open drag racing night or something.
Pacific Raceway would be the best bet and I don’t think they open until late march…

Daft Ada Funny Car (Model Rocket car)
Lightstorm 2 (see other YouTube) retired undeafeated Model Rocket Car champs (2002) with a record that still stands. The next year we raced in Funny cars instead with this car. It came 5th but the other four (above us) were really rocket cars just painted ‘funny’ – at least Daft Ada was a proper ‘Funny’. We got recognised for being sporting though and won the Sportsmanship award for Techno Games 2003 as you can see in this clip – Laurie Calvert.
